We all have that thing we go out of are way for. The one thing that you take personally and seriously. For me, one of those things is Twilight. Twilight in many ways saved me from myself.
I was first introduced to Twilight in college at that time only 2 of the books were published. I read the first one and was intrigued, but I didn't latch on to it. Only because I wanted to see if the author was going to live up to her word and publish the remainder of the series in a timely manner. (I am still reading a Song of Ice and Fire, LOL... I hope he gets it all out before he or I meet our demise :-) )
So time went on and more of the books came out. I devoured them like a moth to a flame! I am not going to lie I was in love with Edward at first until New Moon and Eclipse happened. I even tried to walk the line and be Team Switzerland, but end the end I went for Jacob.
Once the movies came out my addiction kicked into 4th gear and I've never looked back. Twilight definitely help me be true to myself and the interests that I had. It enabled me lots of interesting people, to travel, and I even got my aunt involved in it before she pasted last year.
However, the greatest thing that Twilight did for me was take me back to my first love...Reading and Writing! It allowed me to dream and believe in myself at a time when I thought those days were coming to a close. So my first post is dedicated to my addiction.
An addiction, that fuels and inspires me instead of holding me back. An addiction, that has enriched my life and those around me. An addiction, that has re-established my love for music and the arts.
That's what this blog will be about my thoughts on life and love through the lens of "The Arts." Rather the medium be art, books, movies, or music. This blog is a place to vent my frustrations and share my inspirations. I won't lie Twilight will rear it's head from time to time; but this blog is for the starving artist in all of us!
P.S. My blog is a play on words. I am a huge fan of The Doors, and my favorite song by them is Lover Her Madly. The video is embedded above.
